Make a wish come true!
TWU HOLIDAY GIFT PROGRAM…
The Texas Woman’s University community is known for supporting our students inside and outside of the classroom. We are offering faculty, staff and campus organizations an opportunity to provide assistance for a special group of students who juggle the roles of parent, student, and family “breadwinner.”
The TWU Holiday Gift Program for students with young families was established several years ago to assist TWU student parents with financial needs by providing gifts for their children during the holiday season. This program has grown over the years and is particularly needed today with the current economy. We need your help to offer this program to those students in need within our campus community.
We are inviting you to share this opportunity with your students. All students wanting to be considered can find the link to the application on our website, www.twucommuter.com. We would also like to encourage you to be a Family Sponsor, either individually or as a department, and sponsor one or more families this holiday season. Your generosity will help make the holidays merry for our students and their children. If you don’t have time to shop or want to avoid the shopping crowds, you can simply make a monetary donation by visiting the Donate to the E-toy box on the Commuter page (For cash donations, please contact Robin Head at firstname.lastname@example.org or 940.898.3863).
We will know how many student families we need sponsors for in early November. If you volunteer to be a TWU family sponsor, you will be notified of your sponsored family November 12, 2015.
UNWRAPPED* gifts should be delivered the week of November 23 – December 2, 2015:
- On-campus Denton families, return your gifts to the Lowry Woods Community Center
- Off-campus Denton families, return your gifts to Commuter Services Office Student Union 209
- Dallas campus sponsors will be contacted directly regarding Dallas locations
* We ask that your gifts are delivered to our office unwrapped. Please donate a roll of wrapping paper, or some gift bags with tissue paper, along with your families’ gifts if you would like to give additional support in this area.
If you would like to be a TWU student family sponsor, please apply here. This link will take you to Holiday Gift Program’s sponsor survey on surveymonkey.com. Additionally, if you know of any student parents who might benefit from this program, please direct them to our website, www.twucommuter.com, for instructions on how to apply.
We thank you for bringing the spirit of the holiday season to our student families!
