The following memo was sent via email to faculty, staff, and students on January 15, 2016, from TWU Office of Technology.
Greetings TWU faculty, students, and staff,
This email is to let you know of the recent change for logging in to Lynda.com. (Lessons You Need on Demand Anytime)
The Office of Technology purchased accounts for all TWU faculty, staff, and students from a technology training company called Lynda.com. Lynda.com provides a vast online library of instructional videos (more than 160,000 videos in over 4,000 courses) covering the latest software, creative tools/technical skills, and business skills. The courses are taught by accomplished teachers and recognized industry experts. New videos are added weekly.
Lynda.com is now available using single sign on. That means that faculty, students, and staff will be able to log in using their TWU username and password (portal credentials). While you are employed at TWU and/or enrolled as a student, you should never be asked to pay for this service when using your TWU email address. (as long as we maintain our contract)
More information is available through the Service Desk: http://www.twu.edu/service-desk/Training.asp
You may have some questions:
- If you are new to Lynda.com, check out the course How to use Lynda.com to learn special features of this service.
- If I already have a Lynda.com account, will my current coursework transfer over to the new account? Yes, instructions are available (attached) or on the Service Desk website http://www.twu.edu/service-desk/Training.asp.
- If I forgot the password to my old account, how do I get access? Click “Forgot username or password?” to reset the password and access the old account.
If you have additional questions, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 940 898 3971 or ServiceDesk@twu.edu.
One final note: LinkedIn now owns Lynda.com, so you can easily upload your training certifications to your online professional résumé. Lynda.com offers courses on how to use LinkedIn.
