Walking around campus makes me think spring is near! The spring semester brings busy schedules and some exciting changes. Please take a moment to see what we are working on:
- Strategic Planning: Multiple committees representing staff and faculty have been hard at work at refining the strategic vision into a useful, tangible tool. The next round of listening sessions will be the week we return from Spring Break. Please be part of this important process!
- TWU within the Context of Higher Education, a presentation by Dr. Feyten:
Feyten videotaped a presentation regarding some interesting recent research on student success and how TWU fits. As higher education considers its role in future student development, TWU has an opportunity to make a profound impact and demonstrate real value. Dr. Feyten is asking staff to view this video and provide her with feedback. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7pRltGElsM&feature=youtu.be
- Honors Convocation and Staff Excellence: I hope that you received the email regarding some exciting changes for Honors Convocation. The first big change will be that it will take place on Friday this year on April 15, 2016. The second change is that it will only be an hour J. But the change I would like to focus on is an opportunity to focus on staff success and excellence! Staff Council will highlight some of the great achievements staff have had over the past year. But to highlight them, we need to hear from you! Have you or your peers won an award or maybe been able to present or publish? Do you have a colleague that consistently works above and beyond? We would love to hear about it! Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the stories…they could be featured at Convocation!
- Pioneers Remembered: TWU will begin a new tradition this year called Pioneers Remembered. This program will celebrate those TWU students, staff and faculty who passed away in 2015. The event will be prior to Honors Convocation on Friday, April 15, 2016. If you would like to be involved with this or have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve our TWU community! I hope you are able to take some time off and enjoy Spring Break!
