8:30 AM Campus-Wide Breakfast at the Pioneer Circle
9:15 AM Pioneers Remembered Ceremony
9:45 AM Lineup of Faculty and Students in Regalia
10:00 AM Honors Convocation: A Celebration of Excellence
Faculty, students, and staff from all TWU sites are invited to participate in the University’s re-envisioned Honors Convocation events — a campus-wide breakfast, the Pioneers Remembered ceremony to honor those we have lost this year, and the newly enhanced Honors Convocation: A Celebration of Excellence on Friday, April 15, 2016. The breakfast and Pioneers Remembered ceremony will take place on the Pioneer Circle, and the Convocation will be held in Margo Jones Performance Hall. You will be joining colleagues and students in celebrating the excellence that is TWU!
Faculty and academic administrators are encouraged to wear academic regalia and march in the procession. In addition, our graduating students are invited to wear their regalia, march in the procession, and sit in the center section of the Hall – directly behind the faculty.
The line of march for the academic procession will form at 9:45 a.m. on the circular drive immediately in front of the Music Building and move into Margo Jones Performance Hall promptly at 10:00 a.m. for the one-hour Convocation. Program participants and honorees will precede the academic procession into the Hall.
Classes on the Denton campus may be dismissed from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Offices that can be closed during this period may post a notice indicating when they will reopen. Offices that cannot close should arrange for coverage during Convocation. The Honors Convocation Committee hopes you will make every effort to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there.
